‘Bad luck’ doesn’t cover it

Got a call from N last night, who tells me that she and B are pregnant again after having unprotected sex ONCE since E was born. Bearing in mind they needed 2 rounds of IVF to get preg with E, I call that astounding. You can tell they’re shell-shocked. 15 months between the babies and the prospect of a skiing trip fast receding into the never-never.
