Welcome to Crazy Towers

Another lovely weekend in prospect, and I’m even going to try and do some homestyle things in amongst all the meals out and visits we have planned!
Now Christmas is over I am looking forward to welcoming some of our friends from far away to stay. I love having guests, it’s such good fun and is really an excuse to spruce things up generally and plan lovely meals. Husband never complains, cause it generally means he gets PUDDING at supper which is not normal for us.
Long walks, visits to gardens, strolls round town, quiet beers in dark little pubs, and the chance to rediscover parts of my home city with someone who is not familiar with it. These are a few of my favourite things.
The following would be welcome even if they showed up at 10pm on a rainy night and said they needed a bed:
T, Lisa, Julesy n Butters, B & W, Nin n Bry, Wattie and Weedy, Lil Jo, Levi n Liz, Al n Liz, Dr Chris, Baji…. the list is endless. We are lucky to have such wonderful friends, who are prepared to travel so far, as I’m sure I have said before.

That sounds like such a great weekend.
It reminds me of a Rosamunde Pilcher book that I read a while ago. I love the way she described walking into town, visiting at a pub and then hurrying home when it was raining and having a cup of tea and some biscuits.
By the way, glad to hear R is feeling better!

Laverne, my hometown is great for mooching, and actually R and I spend quite a lot of the summer in the contemplation garden at the cathedral. It has beautiful herbaceous borders, planted to attract bees and butterflies, picnic tables and benches, a grassy area which you are allowed to walk on (!) and flagstones which heat up in the sun and are great to lounge on. All looked down upon by the saints and gargoyles weathering gently on the face of the cathedral.
This summer, i’ll get a coffee from the cafe and turn R loose to booster about while I read the paper and contemplate… stuff!
Thanks so much for your good wishes about R. New tooth this morning!
You know, that sounds exactly like the weekend I have planned for us at the end of the month, there will be mooching and such like in profusion.
Big kiss to R for his new tooth. Ow!
Oh, and you would also be welcome at any time, day or night, bedraggled or not
Thanks my honey.
