It has beautiful herbaceous borders, planted to attract bees and butterflies, picnic tables and benches, a grassy area which you are allowed to walk on (!) and flagstones which heat up in the sun and are great to lounge on. All looked down upon by the saints and gargoyles weathering gently on the face of the cathedral. This summer, i'll get a coffee from the cafe and turn R loose to booster about while I read the paper and contemplate... stuff! Thanks so much for your good wishes about R. New tooth this morning! It reminds me of a Rosamunde Pilcher book that I read a while ago. I love the way she described walking into town, visiting at a pub and then hurrying home when it was raining and having a cup of tea and some biscuits.
