One already!

My gorgeous leetle mouse R was 1 yesterday, and I simply don’t know how he got from being a tiny, floopy baby who weighed almost nothing to a strapping toddler, who eats everything, talks near as dammit and has a blinding sense of humour. It’s truly a miracle; an everyday miracle and a quiet one which many experience but even so. I am daily delighted by him, and the things that he does and that he can do. I am amazed by his bravery and the chances he takes; and watching him figuring something out and understanding ‘how things work’ is one of the best parts of my day. They learn at such a ferocious rate, it’s a wonder they can take it all in.

We are having a little party for him and one of his friends on Saturday, and we celebrated with cake and present paper ripping yesterday. This was great fun - I’m looking forward to when he really understands what it’s all aobut - this Christmas, for example!!
