I have been absent, dear friends, because I’ve been flat on my arse in hospital.

When I’ve got my breath back and have swum dizzily to the top of the incipient heroin addiction I’ve got brewing from all the shots of morphine, I’ll tell you the full gruesome tale. Till then, imagine me seated disconsolate in the 221b Baker Street upper parlour, playing the violin over my boot and whittering of inconsequentialities whilst I await my client; (’Watson - do I hear his foot upon the stair?…’).
I’m feeling awful. But it won’t last.
