What a superb weekend we’ve had. We didn’t do anything unusual; just a series of lovely pursuits. Dinner with M and S, a large takeout curry from the Jalsagor (best curry in town!) and a series of attempts to play Wii Resident Evil 4 by Dom which made me expire laughing as he looked like a mad spider on acid, jumping about in front of the TV. Wandering about the town. Seeing L and E, doing a few bits of last minute shopping, doing house stuff; but really it was just serene, family oriented time, and it’s something we’ve felt has been severely lacking lately.
Recently I’ve been concentrating far too much on the minutiae of running the house, all the niggly bits of nothing that take up so much time. I think my time could be better spent with my boys. So I’m looking for a cleaner to do the hoovering, kitchen, bathroom, windows, beds and dusting. That should mean all I have to do is tidy up. Bob’s your uncle!
Weekends are also the time when I can really get to grips with the food side - so I made 8 pastas and 4 main meals for the Pig and also a large casserole for us - the virtue of which was slightly marred by the subsequent slices of chocolate cake with double cream (burp!). Oh well. It was the weekend!

I’m getting a mental picture of the Wii game. ha ha!
We had a great night with friends on Saturday - may be something you would like to do. We had our first “dinner club”. Everyone takes turns hosting and we have a theme night. Saturday was “appetizers and salad”! It was fun! We pigged out and played a fun game of Cranium. I think it will be at my house next. Not sure what to pick for a theme. Maybe Greek food!
Jenny, that sounds wonderful! I love Italian evenings, all those little antipasti (I’m addicted to artichoke hearts in olive oil and lemon) and chicken livers on crostini. Gorgeous. Greek food is lovely too - Greek salad is one of my faves.
Board games, now! They are sooo under-rated. Back to scrabble and monopoly and away from all the Wii-stuff for me!
