Chickenpox

R has it. His spots are bursting and itching, covering him in pus and bloody streaks. He’s still my little love, so patient, so uncomplaining; he says it itches, but that’s it. My heart is breaking.

There’s a great book by a Canadian author, Robert Munsch called “Arthur’s Chickenpox”. Arthur’s gramma makes him an oatmeal bath and brings him some juice to drink with a curly straw while he’s in the tub. He gets to eat dinner on the couch in front of the TV and just generally gets pampered.
My son (who will be 16 in a couple of months) talks about having the chickenpox when he was little. I read him that story while he was having an oatmeal bath and juice with a curly straw.
Poor little R. I hope he gets better soon!
… by the way, I’ve started blogging again … on my own this time. Hopefully I’ll have something interesting to write in the next couple of days!
Righto Jenny! I’ll have to drop in on you!
That book sounds good - I’m ‘fighting off the stress’ with wine and chocolate cake. R is thankfully past the worst of it now - much brighter and more cheeky - all good signs!
Wait for a bit before you drop in … for some reason, my posts aren’t working. Sigh. I keep clicking “publish” but nothing happens. I hope I can figure it out!
Ugghh…chicken pox
Hope the itching subsides quickly!
For some reason, my blog doesn’t give a link when I make a comment. Any ideas as to how to fix it?

Bizarre, Jen. No, I don’t! I wondered if you were blogging on WordPress - if you are it should all be automatic!
