I think it’s a given that the state isn’t interested in the man in the street - that’s why we need a new team at the helm. All that man in the street can do is do the best with what he’s got now. This means you, girl!

What kind of time will you get off when you have your baby? (Yes. I think you are going to be preggers by the end of the year). In Canada, it’s better now than when I had my first baby. Parents get a year off … so the mom can take 6 months and the dad can take 6 months, or one parent can take the whole year.

Our maternity leave is pretty good, a year now I think although only 6 months of it is paid. However, I work for the family business so I can’t take off too much time or it’ll hit the bottom line, hehhehh! I’m thinking of trying to cut a deal where I take off the minimum amount of time in return for a better subsidised paid period.
Mr P doesn’t get any time off except for 2 weeks paternity leave - he’s better off at work, bless him. I think he’d find it less stressful!
My adorable mother in law is bound to come over from Ibiza to help me out - she saved my life last time.
The photo will be replaced shortly but it’s of the view two hills away from my parent’s hill. Lovely isn’t it. When mum and I go for a drive on Thursday mornings after shopping (Rowan generally asleep in the back of the car) we go down all the little lanes you see every day but neverknow where they go. We make it our business to find out!

God, mamatried, that is DREADFUL. Actually, I’m a bit embarassed to be complaining when you, a public sector worker, get such awful benefits. That’s just so WRONG. How can they not pay you?
