The bosses are both off sick today with flu. Luckily for them; they’ve given it to me. I am feeling like hammered s**t and not looking much better, by all accounts. Cough, cough, splutter.

Post Chocolate Self-Hatred

Ok, maybe a bit strong. But I mindlessly demolished a whole Thorntons Easter egg last night while watching Addams Family Values. This was bad, but the worst thing was that I’d dropped the whole shooting match on the floor prior to eating it so what I was actually eating was floor-soiled shards of Thorntons Easter [...]

Oh, shut it, already, P! Everyone goes through this and Mamatried’s right - there are always savings to be made. You pay for what’s important. This is important!
I think it’s a given that the state isn’t interested in the man in the street - that’s why we need a new team at the helm. All [...]

I just replied to a post to Jen, who was encouraging me to go for it, baby-wise. In my reply I worked out I spend about £6,000 a year on Mouse’s nursery. I get 5% discount for 2. So, maybe £11,000 a year to have them both cared for to the high standards you’d rightly [...]

I always do my accounts at the start of the month. So, for March, I’ve got the chance to be depressed about money for 27 days straight. Every penny allocated. Everyone will get paid, all bills will be covered, all promises kept. Food will go on the table, babysitters will receive their remuneration. I have £50 [...]

At home, ill, waiting for my doctor’s appointment at 10.40hrs. This Christmas / New Year has been a bit ill-ish, and looking back over the blog I find last Christmas was the same! Scuse me, must dash!
My Head Hurts

I’ve had a headache for three days now and every now and again it blows up into a migraine and then goes back some.
Chocolate is the culprit, unfortunately. I’ve been breaking my diet in the worst possible way and now I’m paying for it.
Losing the weight was so easy. So easy it didn’t feel like [...]

Well, one thing that being sick teaches you is who your friends are.
Mine have been marvellous, caring and attentive and have saved me so much bother by jumping in and helping me at every turn, sending flowers and cards, running errands, allowing me to whinge at them and generally being marvellous.
One exception (who will know who [...]

Monday 18th, I was at work, happily going about my own business. I went for a wee prior to my lunch - I felt a twinge, thought nothing of it, ate my sandwich and bantered with the boys…. two hours later D was rushing me to hospital, running red lights and taking the most appalling [...]
