Still in bed, and determined to count my blessings!
I can’t talk (a blessing for some)
Listening to Melvyn Bragg on WB Yeats (hurrah, such lyricism)
Looking at a jam sandwich with longing but not sure if I can eat it.
Truce said a true thing - flu makes you feel like an utter Jeanne d’Arc, martyrdom looming o’er [...]

Spent today largely in bed, with my little radio on, listening to R4 and reading / snoozing / waking up / drifting. I have eaten 1 piece of toast, one Mullerlight and shamefully, a Pot Noodle (beef and tomato). I have read 2/3rds of a Bill Bryson about how mad Britain is. I have blogged. [...]

Nuff said, really - rolled over, turned off my alarm clock, lay there in comfortable stupor until I realised it was actually Friday and I was late up!
Just waking up now at 09:26hrs. NOT happy; want to go backtabed.

… but that’s ok, because I dried my first load of washing outside this year yesterday; one more piece of evidence to support my theory that yesterday was the REAL first day of spring.
I’m glad for the rain; I slept better last night than I have in ages, which is always the case when it [...]

… when you have a fruit gum in your mouth and your gums ache and itch because you want to chew it so badly?
I wandered round the town yesterday, looking at tiny baby clothes and layettes, and miraculously, all my books about babies and baby names have jumped out of storage and back into the [...]

I am effing sick of effing working my effing butt off cooking, washing, cleaning, tidying, organising, ironing, dusting, polishing, changing beds, buying birthday and Christmas presents and running about after people. I’m brilliant at all these things and that’s my downfall. I wish I was effing crap at them and then I wouldn’t have to [...]

Yes, it’s that time again, it’s….. weekend off!!!!
Sounds right shallow. I don’t mean to say that we’re relieved that we don’t have to look after R this weekend, or that we’re glad to be rid of him, or anything negative at all. Parents everywhere will relate, I’m sure - if you’ve not had enough time [...]

Gorgoeus weekend. Only made more gorgeous by the fact that I got loads of gardening done, the Mouse helped, we all ate ourselves silly and we each got some relaxation in! Simple ingredients in a classic combination.
I’m not drinking at the moment; not because I have run out of drink, but because I just feel [...]

I’m in bed, reading, listening to Radio 4 and podcasts, and teaching myself a much-needed lessonette in learning to notice when I’m ill enough to stay home, and then acting on it.
I aim to do nothing more stressful than the above today, interspersed with long snooze breaks.
Hooray for …. zzzzzzzzz…………

Woke up at 4.30 with a migraine and now am feeling distinctly iffy. Why does it always happen when you’ve absolutely no time to be ill!!? Husband is away tonight and periodically between now and the end of March. Think it’s my sinuses. That are wrong with me, not that’s making him go away! Oh, [...]
