Hippy Summer

My colleague S asked me what was up with me today. Gone were the frowns, the pale face, the Metallica booming through, the high boots and power bitch dressing. Instead, smiles, tan, linen slacks and a flowerchild top, and Loreena McKennitt. All I could say was, I’m happy.
It’s warm outside, the light’s good, I have [...]

So it would appear that this weekend we’re all due to be washed out to sea.
We’re supposed to be driving down to Sussex to see the parents. This is, according to the AA, A Bad Idea. The roads to Brighton are festooned along their length by rain warnings. The roof of the unit is currently [...]

Gorgeous Whiteness

I’ve been out all morning, reeling about taking pictures, just drunk on the gorgeousness of everything when it’s obscured by snow.
I wasn’t the only one - photographers were thick along the riverbanks and parents were all over Castle Green making snow angels, dogs, cats and (unfashionably, it seems) men for their offspring.
There were teams of [...]

Better than Christmas

We’re going to get snooooow!!
Apparently as much as 15cm which is amazing, it’s going to start tonight, I’m really excited and that is a totally sad thing to admit - but all us worker bees feel like skiving off to the Brecon Beacons with a flask of tea and a Flexible Flyer.
This will be the [...]

Crisp and cold here in the Welsh Marches and there’s enough of a breeze to put apples in your cheeks. Working away, but taking frequent walks up to the post office / down round the village on errands I could technically put off.
Tomorrow being the eve of the works Christmas party, which I am looking forward [...]
