Isn't she Dickon's sister? Dying of cholera - my grandmother dealt with several outbreaks when she lived in India - I'm surprised our whole family wasn't wiped out by it! Horrid. Now I'm kind of wanting to re-read the book, although I didn't much like it ... even as a kid, I found it overly sentimental and heavy-handed. Plus I hated Sara, even when she turned into a nicer person. And I wanted them to describe her parents' horrible deaths in more detail. A whole houseful of people dead of cholera -- that's scope for imagination!
